EDIT: Amazon has recently added free international 3G wireless (coverage in over 100 countries) to both of its Kindle devices, with enhancements including improved PDF reading ability, Facebook & Twitter Posts, Book Collections, etc. Among the two models of Kindle, the Kindle DX (9.7" Kindle) can be a good choice for you if you plan to use it for reading textbook or newspaper. Personally, I’ll go for the Kindle 2 (6" Kindle, currently at its best price, added native PDF support) because it is more handy; I love the ereaders because they are “mobile ebook readers”.
When we talk about the Kindle 2 we have to ask ourselves "Is Kindle 2 worth the price?" It depends on what you are actually hoping to achieve for the most part, but the short answer is yes it is well worth the money.
The initial investment for the Amazon Kindle 2 is worth it when you look at the big picture. For the avid reader it means the ability to house as many as 1500 books at any given time on your Kindle 2 with the overflow able to be stored on Amazon Kindle servers for free retrieval later on. One of the top reasons that the Kindle 2 is worth the price is due to the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of titles available for low prices.
It is said that on average, if you purchase 70 Kindle books, the money you saved on actual books already covers the price of the Kindle device! In addition, there are over 5,000 titles which you can download for free on Amazon as well as over 25,000 titles which you can get at the price of under $1. Over time, the savings on these titles will pay for the Kindle 2’s base price over and over again.
Imagine going on a trip, perhaps on vacation and your goal is to read some of the books you have been putting off for a while. Would you rather take a box of books with you, or would you want to pack the lightweight Amazon Kindle 2 into your purse?

Look at it this way. You’re going to read these books anyhow. So let’s say you went out and bought 22 of these books in the print edition. Now you have to take them wherever you move to, and not only that, the pages will get old and fray, and all the while you could have purchased the Kindle 2, had the same number of books, and they would be stored within the lightweight Kindle 2 able to go where you go, anytime, and yes, once again, the Kindle is well worth the price.

When it comes to different functions, the Apple iPhone would top the Amazon Kindle 2, but let’s look it for the purposes of reading a book, which is what the Amazon Kindle 2 was created to do.
The Amazon Kindle features a larger screen, to make for easier reading than you could do with the iPhone. The iPhone screen is but 3.5 inch diagonal color screen while the Amazon Kindle 2 features a 6 inch screen with 16 levels of gray for higher resolutions. The Amazon Kindle 2 also features re-sizeable type for those that have a little trouble with small type.
The Kindle 2 also offers basic web-browsing features on text-based websites such as Wikipedia and Google. The screen gives a "paper" like appearance, and the pages flip over much faster than those in the Kindle 1.0. This wireless access is free to purchasers of the Kindle 2, so there only other fees you’ll pay are for the books that you buy. You can buy bestsellers to read on the Kindle 2 starting at just $9.99 per title. The iPhone currently cannot connect to Amazon to purchase such books. I’m not sure you would want to anyway, given the size of the iPhone’s screen. It’s too difficult to see the type properly.
The Amazon Kindle 2 can subscribe to various newspapers and it will be delivered to your Kindle 2 daily, and this won’t be possible with the iPhone. And with the Amazon Kindle 2 you can store the purchases on the Amazon servers for later retrieval, and connect anytime to retrieve a book, free without depending on finding WI-FI hotspots.
All in all, if you want a telephone then buy an iPhone, but when you want to read a book, why trouble yourself with the small print and screen of the iPhone? The Amazon Kindle 2 is better by far, with a larger screen and re-sizeable type too!

First, before talking about the Sony Reader PRS-700BC, there are significant differences between the Amazon Kindle 1 when compared with the Kindle 2. Among other things, the Kindle 2 is much thinner and boasts an increase of battery life by about 25% over that of the Kindle 1.0. The Kindle 2 also features a better keyboard which means easier to flip pages.
The Kindle 2’s chief competitor is the Sony Reader PRS-700BC, though you will see clearly that Kindle 2 beats the Sony Reader hands down. This is primarily because of the available features as we list below. The Sony Reader debuted in 2006 and uses the same technology as the Kindle and the chief difference between the two is availability of a wireless network, or lack thereof.
While the Kindle 2 does not have WI-FI, it does make use of Sprint’s EVDO Wireless data network to search for, and download books. The Kindle 2’s wireless connectivity and basic web-browsing features make it the more powerful of the two.
Another key factor is the available titles. There are a number of users in the Kindle review section who is owner of the Sony Reader originally, but in the end favors the Kindle 2 because it has much more available content than the Sony Reader. Not to mention that Amazon also provides over 5,000 free Kindle books as well as over 25,000 Kindle books each at the price of less than $1. Being in the loop within the reading and book industries we sometimes get the chance to review some hot products. Today I am sharing my thoughts on one of those products, the Amazon Kindle 2.

For those who are unfamiliar with the Kindle, it’s an eBook reading device that allows you to read your latest novel, magazine, newspaper, or blog on one device. It has the look of paper with an e-Ink screen, and it’s about the size of a paperback novel.
The Kindle 2 is the second version of this device, and it has some excellent improvements that make this one worth adding to you “order it now” list.

If you had the chance to use the first Kindle, then there are a few things you’ll notice when you pick up the new Amazon Kindle 2. First the new device is slimmer and lighter than its predecessor. In fact, the new version weighs in at just 10.2 ounces, and at only 1/3 of inch thick it is much thinner than the old Kindle.
The next thing you’ll notice when you pick up the Amazon Kindle 2.0 is the improved keyboard, and strategically located page turning buttons. Customers of the old Kindle complained about how easy it was to accidently flip the pages. That problem is gone with Amazons follow up device.
Where this one really shines though, is when you get into the actual features that Amazon has put into the new Kindle 2.0. Features like:
- 3G Wireless access lets you buy and download books anywhere, anytime, and without having to search for a Wi-Fi host-spot, and with no wireless access fees.
- Over 5,000 Kindle books which you can download for free on Amazon.
- Over 25,000 Kindle books which you get at the price of under $1.
- An improved display that looks even more like real paper, and provides crisper images.
- An improved battery life that will keep you reading for days on just a single charge.
- More storage that allows you to take more than 1500 books with you wherever you go.
- Improved page turning speeds. This takes care of the other common complaint with the first version of the Kindle.
You would think that with all of those additions that Amazon would have stopped there. Really they could have, and it still would have been a large enough improvement to lead many to upgrade to this new version. They didn’t stop their though, they also added read-to-me.
The new read-to-me is a text-to-speech system that will let you listen to your Kindle 2 at the push of a button. If you’re on the road and you still want to get the latest news, catch up on your blog reading, or finish that novel, the Kindle 2 will read it to you while you’re on the go.

After seeing this one for myself I am highly recommending the new Amazon Kindle 2.
Besides being the only device that will put over 230,000 books at your fingertips (plus your favorite magazine, papers, and blogs) it is the only e-Reader on the market that offers such a huge range of features. After getting to see this one for myself, I have my own Kindle 2.0 on order, and I do suggest you use the link below to check the latest actual customer reviews yourself.

Amazon Kindle 2.0 Book Reader is released; please follow the link to see the latest Amazon Kindle 2.0 Review. For benefits and best price offers of Amazon Kindle 1.0 please read on in this article.

Have you ever imagined having your own private library? Do you find yourself overwhelmed that there is so much to read and so little time? Amazon’s innovative Kindle Book Reader 1.0 might be just what you need to organize your reading materials.
I used to be a mess. Reading is a big part of my life, both for work and for pleasure. Each day was a hassle as I struggled to manage the mountain of books I checked out from the library, as well as newspaper and magazine subscriptions. On top of all that, I had many online blogs to keep up with as well. I was at my wits end. I couldn’t keep up! Worse still, as I began to lag behind, I began to accumulate a startling amount of library fees.
I tried e-book readers in an attempt to organize my reading list, but I didn’t have much luck their either. When I wasn’t struggling with low power and battery life, the format itself was confusing and the screen’s low light and limited font options made reading very unpleasant indeed.
I was tempted to give up on using e-book readers altogether.
The Amazon Kindle Changed Everything!
Then I found Amazon’s Kindle Book Reader. It was different than the other e-book readers I’d tried. This innovative device allowed me to sort my books, blogs, and newspapers all in one convenient place! Better still, not only is its battery life long lasting, but its format was simple to use and its screen easy on my eyes.
Since purchasing the Amazon Kindle, I’ve finally been able to get my reading schedule under control. Not only that, but I’ve stumbled across thousands of amazing books, newspapers, and blogs I never would have known about otherwise!

Another great benefit of owning an Amazon Kindle Book Reader is that I can read the things I love no matter where I am! I no longer have to limit myself to taking just one book or magazine with me to read while waiting at the doctor’s office or whiling away the time on a long plane ride.
Using the Amazon Kindle has opened up more opportunities than I ever could imagine. Its innovative technology actually allows me to purchase books with the click of a button. With Amazon Kindle Book Reader, I have been able to do more than just organize my reading materials—I’ve been able to enrich my library with more books than I ever could have imagined.
